Consignor Policy
Thank you for choosing Sprout Consignment Shop for Kids! My goal is to make consigning simple, convenient, and stress-free. I handle the pickup, photography, pricing, marketing, buyer communication, and sales—so you can earn money without the hassle of selling your items yourself.
How It Works
- Schedule a Pickup – Choose a convenient pickup appointment.
- Pack Your Items – Purchase the approved Brightroom® 2-Pack Large Clear Storage Bags (Target), label each bag with your first and last name, and fill them with clean, current-season children’s items. Other bags that are comparable: Mainstays Heavy Duty Storage and Moving Bag, Clear, 20 Gallon, 2 Pack (If purchasing bags outside of what is suggested, please get approval from Sprout before pickup.)
- Pickup Day – I’ll pick up your bags and any pre-approved larger baby gear or toys.
- I Do the Rest – Your items are photographed, priced, listed, marketed, and sold.
- Get Paid – Receive 60% of the selling price as soon as your items sell via Venmo or Cash App.

Tuesdays | 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
During pickup, your items will be briefly reviewed to confirm they meet Sprout’s acceptance guidelines.
Fees & Storage Bags
- There is no pickup fee.
- Consignors are required to purchase the approved Brightroom® 2-Pack Large Clear Storage Bags (Target). These bags remain your property throughout your consignment.
- One free pickup is included every 60-day consignment period.
- Additional pickups during the same consignment period are $10 and require another set of storage bags.
- Each additional pickup begins its own new 60-day consignment period.
- If you request your unsold items back, they will be returned in your storage bags.
- If you donate your unsold items, Sprout will keep your storage bags and reuse them during your next pickup.
- Please label each bag with your first and last name and avoid overfilling the bags.
Consignment Period
- Every consignment remains active for 60 days.
- Unsold items cannot be re-consigned by the same consignor.
- This policy keeps inventory fresh and allows room for new consignments.
Seasonal Acceptance
Please consign only current-season items.
- Spring (February-April): Lightweight clothing, dresses, rain jackets, Easter outfits, spring shoes, outdoor toys
- Summer (May-July): Shorts, tank tops, swimsuits, sandals, beach gear, water toys
- Fall (August-October): Long sleeves, jeans, hoodies, light jackets, back-to-school clothing, Halloween clothing and costumes
- Winter (November-January): Winter coats, snow pants, boots, hats, gloves, holiday clothing, Christmas pajamas, warm sleepwear
Out-of-season items may be declined until the appropriate selling season.
Item Preparation
- Freshly washed and odor-free
- Stain-free and in excellent condition
- Current season
- From a smoke-free home
- Complete, clean, and in working order
- Batteries must be included
- Hangers preferred
Larger toys and baby gear that do not fit in the storage bags may be accepted with prior approval.
Pricing & Payouts
Sprout determines pricing based on:
- Current resale market value
- Brand and condition
- Seasonal demand
- Current inventory
- Overall likelihood of selling
Most everyday clothing is priced at $1 per piece.
Higher-demand brands, boutique clothing, special occasion wear, outerwear, and premium items may be priced higher based on value.
Payments are sent as items sell via Venmo or Cash App.
Donation Policy
At the end of your 60-day consignment period, you may choose to:
- Have your unsold items returned to you, or
- Donate your remaining items.
Items selected for donation help support Sprout’s Donation Sale benefiting Breast Cancer Research.
If you choose donation, Sprout will keep your storage bags for your next pickup.
Unsold items that are to be reclaimed must be picked up within 7 days after notification unless other arrangements have been made.
Items We Cannot Accept
For safety reasons, Sprout cannot accept recalled, expired, damaged, incomplete, or unsafe items, including:
- Car seats and booster seats
- Cribs, crib mattresses, crib sheets, and crib bumpers
- Inclined sleepers, Rock ’n Plays, Boppy loungers, Bumbo seats, and baby walkers
- Breast pumps, baby monitors, used bottle nipples, and pacifiers
- Opened or expired baby formula or baby food
- Toys with broken pieces, exposed batteries, button batteries, or missing safety parts
- Baby gear missing hardware or safety straps
- Recalled products
- Items with mold, smoke odor, pest damage, excessive staining, or significant wear
All baby gear is checked against the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recall database before being accepted.
Consignment Agreement
- Sprout reserves the right to accept or decline any item.
- Sprout may adjust pricing at any time to improve the likelihood of a sale.
- Unsold items selected for return must be picked up within 7 days of notification unless other arrangements have been made.
- A signed consignment agreement is required before your first pickup.
- The agreement confirms the 60/40 commission split and your preference for donating or reclaiming unsold items.

Communication
If you have an active Sprout account, you’ll receive email notifications as your items sell.
Sprout manages all buyer communication, questions, scheduling, and shipping so you never have to.
Frequently Asked Questions
A minimum of one (1) Large Brightroom storage bag and a maximum of four (4) Large Brightroom storage bags per pickup.
No. Please purchase only the Large Brightroom Clear Storage Bags. The Extra Large size is too large for transportation and storage. If the Large bags are unavailable, contact Sprout before purchasing an alternative.
Yes! Larger baby gear and toys are welcome. Please contact Sprout before your pickup so transportation space can be confirmed.
One complimentary pickup is included every 60-day consignment period. Additional pickups are available for a $10 pickup fee plus additional storage bags.
Yes. Items between seasons are accepted, but they may be removed from sale early if demand drops. For the best results, consign early in the appropriate season.
After your 60-day consignment period, you may reclaim your items or choose to donate them.
Contact Sprout through email or social media before your consignment expires. Reclaimed items must be picked up within seven days of expiration.
If your items are not picked up within seven days, they will be donated according to your consignment agreement.
Payments are usually sent immediately after an item sells. You'll also receive an email notification. If you haven't received payment within one week, contact Sprout immediately.
Yes. All clothing must be freshly laundered to remove odors, stains, pet hair, and allergens.
Hangers are preferred and guarantee your clothing can be displayed at Sprout pop-up events. Folded clothing is accepted but may not be included in pop-up displays due to limited space.
Shoes should be cleaned, matched together, and placed inside zip-top bags.
Please install working batteries so functionality can be confirmed before listing.
Yes! Sprout gladly accepts specialty sizes, including plus sizes.
No. Once an item completes its 60-day consignment period, it cannot be re-consigned by the same consignor.
